  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour and salt together before gradually adding it to the creamed mixture until fully combined.
  4. Spread about three cups of batter evenly into the bottom of the pan. Pour cherry pie filling over this layer and drop small clumps of remaining batter on top.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  6. Allow cooling completely on a wire rack before serving.
