  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  2. Mix eggs, ice water, and lemon juice in a small bowl; add to dry ingredients and combine gently.
  3. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Toss sliced apples with sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  6. Roll out larger dough piece to fit the pan; add apple filling evenly.
  7. Roll out remaining dough over the filling; seal edges and cut vents.
  8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown; cool completely before glazing.
