These crispy, cinnamon-dusted apple slices are not only simple to make but also offer a healthier alternative to regular fries. Perfect as an after-school snack, a dessert for family gatherings, or a cozy fall treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium firm apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Gala)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or coconut oil/vegetable oil)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar/brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the apples, core them, and cut them into fry shapes about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Pat the apple fries dry with a paper towel.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the apple fries and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the coated apple fries and toss again.
  7. Arrange in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for 15-25 minutes until tender and slightly golden.
