  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 ¼ cups (306 g) whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch nonstick loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture gently and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. Brush the warm bread with melted butter and coat with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
