  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together white sugar and softened butter until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine flour and baking powder in another bowl. Gradually mix into the creamed mixture, alternating with milk until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with half of the chopped apples and half of the cinnamon mixture. Repeat with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
