  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat lightly in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown; transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and mushrooms with Italian seasoning; cook for 5-6 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Stir in minced garlic for one minute, then add white apple vinegar to deglaze the pan. Reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Mix in heavy cream, return chicken to skillet, and simmer for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
