- 8 oz flank, skirt, or sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
- 2 packs (7 oz each) cooked or frozen udon noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp sesame oil
- Optional: sliced scallions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; sear the seasoned beef until browned. Remove from pan.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add udon noodles and sauce mixture; toss to combine for about 2-3 minutes.
- Return beef to skillet; mix until everything is hot and well-coated in sauce. Serve immediately.
