  • 300 g sirloin steak (or rib-eye, flank steak, or blade steak)
  • ½ white onion (thinly sliced)
  • 4-5 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced or sliced thinly)
  • 1 stalk green onion (cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil


Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain for tenderness.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar; set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat; add ginger slices and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  5. Add beef strips; stir-fry for approximately 3-5 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Push beef to one side; add onions and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
  7. Stir in green onions and pour the prepared sauce over everything; mix well.
  8. For a thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in water before adding to skillet; simmer until thickened.
