  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 pita breads
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb or beef, chopped red onion, parsley, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add breadcrumbs and beaten egg to the mixture; stir gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook meatballs for 8-10 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, diced cucumber, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper for the cucumber yogurt sauce.
  6. Warm pita breads as per package instructions.
