  • 1 1/4 cups creamy conventional peanut butter
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt together the chopped chocolate and butter until smooth; let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract; add the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. In another bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the pan and dollop peanut butter on top. Cover with remaining batter.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean with a few crumbs attached.
  7. Allow cooling in the pan before lifting out using parchment overhang; cut into squares.
